TDP MLAs were suspended for the rest of the budget session on Monday for allegedly creating unruly scenes and insulting the national anthem during the Governor’s speech to the joint session of the Legislature on the opening day.
The TDP leader said he has asked the governor to get all the CDs in relation to the incident to know the fact of the matter.
BJP members staged a strike Monday to protest the suspension of TDP MLAs of the house. BJP floor leader K Laxman said the MLAs were suspended without having the opportunity to tender an apology for alleged insult to the national anthem during the governor’s speech last Saturday in the assembly.
“Some lawmakers from the ruling party also disrupted the house during the singing of the national anthem. But the action was taken against selectively only MLAs TDP is highly questionable. Minister of legislative affairs T Harish Rao misled the House to initiate action against Member TDP, “Laxman said.
Harish Rao said the whole house supported the action against the MLAs who insulted the national anthem. He said lawmakers were given opportunity three times to tender an apology but did not respond. He said the MLAs of the ruling party also seek an apology if they had evidence against their legislators. The minister said the BJP was supporting his partner in the alliance with the elections to the Legislative Council in mind. He said in Maharashtra, some MLAs were suspended for two years for attacking the governor.happy wheels
