“It scares us, not from someone in Congress, but from an eminent congressional leader,” Union Trade Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told reporters.
Accusing Congress of “constantly questioning the integrity of the Indian army to embarrass and demoralize them,” he said, “I wonder if this is a Congressional strategy to undermine the Indian army, weaken our institutions.” Sadak ka gunda? Sonia Gandhi must give up her leadership that is insulting the Indian Army, is not what Congress wants and should apologize Congress should clarify its position on the remarks against the Indian Army. ”
Meanwhile, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit presented an apology for the second time Monday, saying he should not have used “uncivilized” words to convey his message.
“It was a statement given to you (ANI) only and was in the context of the constant statements that the army chief has made with respect to the preparation of the army and Pakistan.I thought Indian army chiefs do not normally make these statements and They have a different way in which they approach. But this was a separate issue. If I had to say something like this, there was a different language and the way I should have said it. It does not make any sense. They are not civilians and I apologize for that, “Dikshit told ANI.
Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said Sunday that General Rawat should not make statements like a “Sadak ka Gunda” (a highway robber).
Speaking to ANI, Dikshit said: “Feel our army chief talk like a highway thug.” While this is expected from Pakistan being like the Mafia, why does our own boss make such pronouncements?
Dikhsit’s remark came in the background of General Rawat’s recent statement, where he said that the Indian army is well prepared to face external and internal threats from the country.
“The Indian army is fully ready for a two-and-a-half-year war,” General Rawat said.
The congress party, however, departed from Dikshit’s controversial statement, saying that the party does not support the use of such language at all.
“I do not know why he used that language, we discussed this issue with him, but the party does not support this for sure,” congressional leader Meem Afzal told ANI.happy wheels
