WhatsApp has confirmed the verification of some business accounts in the messaging application, indicating its official launch on the platform soon. At present, business verification is limited to a small number of companies involved in a pilot program.
“WhatsApp is exploring ways for you to communicate with the businesses that matter to you,” the company wrote in a blog post. A statement on the WhatsApp FAQ page says, “If you see a green credential next to a contact name, it means that WhatsApp has confirmed that the phone number for this contact belongs to a company account.”
Clarifying further, WhatsApp says it will allow users to know when you are talking to a verified business account through a yellow message inside a chat. “There is no way to eliminate these chat messages,” the company added.
“If you already have a business phone number stored in your address book, the name you will see is the name you have saved in your address book If you do not have the phone number of a company stored in your address book, The name you see is the name that the company has chosen for them.If you want to prevent a business from contacting you, you can block them, “WhatsApp explained.
WABetaInfo, which is known to reveal all the latest WhatsApp features in the test, has also noted “verified business accounts” in the beta version 2.17.285 of the application. In an online shared image, WABetaInfo revealed how a WhatsApp business account will look and what all the information it displays.
According to the published image, any verified business account in WhatsApp will likely include the business address, the actual business name, the business email address and your website in the “Business Information” section.happy wheels
