The tragedy occurred during the Ganesh immersion celebrations in Madhya Pradesh. The boat capsized during the immersion of Ganesh idols on Friday morning at the Ghat in Khatlapur, Bhopal. At least 11 people were killed in the incident … and five more missing.
Immediately after the accident there were ready rescue teams in the field. 11 bodies are being recovered and are being air-lifted. The incident was reported to have taken place beyond the limits of the boat.

Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for External Affairs PC Sharma said the incident was a tragedy during Ganesh’s immersion celebrations. The government has announced Rs 4 lakh exgratia for the families of the deceased. He is overseeing the events. The minister said an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
