Samsung launches new portable storage SSD T5
Samsung Electronics has announced the Portable SSD T5 – a latest solid state portable drive (PSSD) that raises the bar for the performance of external memory products. The T5, built with Samsung’s 64-layer V-NAND technology, aims to deliver high transfer rates with encrypted data security in a compact and durable design. This new design makes it easier for consumers to carry in their pocket.
The T5 offers speeds up to 540 MB / s – up to 4.9 times faster than conventional external hard disk storage. The T5 is especially designed for content creators, business and IT professionals, as well as for conventional consumers, to give instant and fast access to their data. The T5 is smaller than a medium business card in 74 x 57.3 x 10.5 mm and is very light in a mere 51g. The aluminum exterior comes in two different finishes – Deep Black (1TB, 2TB) and Alluring Blue (250GB, 500GB).
With no moving parts and a shock-resistant internal frame, the T5 offers users peace of mind as it can withstand accidental falls of up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) without any damage. The Samsung SSD portable PC and Mac software is based on 256-bit AES hardware data encryption and is also available for Android smartphones and tablets. In addition, the T5 includes two connection cables – USB-C to C and USB-C to A – for compatibility between numerous devices. The T5 comes with a three-year limited warranty and will be available globally for an initial price of $ 129.99 for the 250GB model.
