Visakhapatnam: A 35-year-old woman has been raped by two men in front of her three children at her home in the city on Monday, police said Wednesday.
Police rushed the two accused and their accomplices on Wednesday and are interrogating them. In her complaint to the Gajuwaka police station Tuesday night, the woman stated that the incident occurred on Monday night when her husband was away to work.
According to the complainant, the gang of four men, including a minor, entered his house. “Two gang members raped the woman in front of her children and threatened her with serious consequences if she disclosed the matter to anyone,” said Gajuwaka police inspector Immanuel Raju, “before they fled they snatched 500 rupees.”
Police have registered a case under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the CPI. “We have seized the four members of the band and are investigating,” Raju said.
