Maharashtra Portfolios: Shiv Sena Gets Home Ministry, Ncp Gets Finance, Revenue Goes To Congress

The Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress alliance came to know about the appointment of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray two weeks after he was sworn in. Uddhav Thackeray was assigned to the Shiv Sena as well as the Urban Development Departments. Sharad Pawar-led NCP has been assigned the Finance and Housing Departments. It was decided to give the Congress a revenue department.

The Shiv Sena receives Home, Urban Development, Environment, Industries, Higher and Technical Education, Sports, Public Works, Tourism and Assembly Affairs.

The NCP has the Ministry of Finance, Housing, Food Supply, Labor, Rural Development, Social Justice, Water Resources and Excise. The Congress is also responsible for revenue, including the Department of School Education, Animal Husbandry, Tribal Development, Women and Child Welfare and OBC Development.

The BJP and the Shiv Sena contested the Maharashtra Assembly elections in November. Both parties won seats for the majority. But the Shiv Sena demanded that Chero share two and a half years as CM. Uddhav Thackeray refused to join the BJP without the post of chief minister. Shiv Sena has forged a 30-year friendship with the BJP because of its unwillingness to do so. Shaking hands with Congress and NCP.

Ajit Pawar, who recently joined the BJP and worked as Maharashtra’s deputy chief executive for the last three days, looks likely to be financed. It is reported that Jayant Patil, who has already taken oath as a minister, will be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister.

Devendra Fadnavis, who resigned as CM, amidst the dramatic developments that lasted for a few days, again sworn in as CM. But he resigned as chief minister on the fourth day after the blow of Ajit Pawar. Uddhav Thackeray was sworn in as CM on November 28 at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. But talks about the portfolios did not come to Colic for several days.
