Court postpones ruling on the MAA results postponed to April 13
The pending trial in the
controversial elections Movie Artists Association held on March 24 has been postponed to April 13.
Judicial intervention occurred following the complaint of an actor against former president Murali Mohan MAA and the court had rejected without a vote but the announcement of the results stayed.
It all started when Murali Mohan, who had been in office for several years, decided not to contest this year. After VB Rajendra Prasad died earlier this year, took over the post of Chairman of the Film Nagar Daiva Sannidhanam and is also a member of Parliament. And so he decided not to contest in elections.
It was then that other actors like Jagapathi Babu and Srikanth approached for the post. But with both declining, the name of Rajendra Prasad, who lost Murali Mohan by eight votes in the previous election, came to light. The actor immediately convened a press conference and announced that he was willing to take the responsibility. However, he learned that some top players were unhappy with the candidacy of Rajendra Prasad.
Although the reasons are not known, Murali Mohan approached and asked to contest in the election again or find an alternative (Jayasudha was the name that emerged after the suggestion of some of the major players in the league). This information came to the former who hastily organized another press meet and revealed several problems that occurred during the term of the latter. It was further alleged that political pressure to call back Jayasudha was used. This obviously was not down well with many including Jayasudha and Murali Mohan.
With so much support that comes your way, winning Jayasudha seemed a foregone conclusion. However, like any other choice, it allies that make a big difference. And at this juncture, 250 young artists committed to supporting Rajendra Prasad, ensuring the tables turn.Amidst fight between supporters of both presidential candidates, the drama that followed has become a cause of concern for many, especially the media communication.
Although the results have not been announced almost immediately notice the court has postponed them following a lawsuit filed by a given O Kalyan. While the results were to be held on Tuesday, the court adjourned the hearing of the case and, therefore, must be expected until April 7.It seen whether Jayasudha victory is with much support from the big league or Rajendra Prasad results achieved with the help of his general support group.
It is public knowledge that the elections divided MAA entire Tollywood industry and only 394 of the 702 members participated and voted in elections. The competition was expected to be unanimous with the comic actor Rajendra Prasad as President for the year had taken a new twist with the entry of actress Jayasudha as challenger.
Finally! The wait is over! Today (April 7) … MAA (Movie Artistes Association) has come Election results will be announced.
It should be noted here that C Kalyan approached the court to stop the elections, but the Supreme Court ordered to conduct the elections on March 29, but the process of counting and announcement of results was stopped.
The High Court has postponed the procedure in this case until April 7 and the results will be announced after receiving the judgment today.
Only 394 artists exercised their voting power of 702 members of the MAA. Let’s wait and see who will win the MAA president ship this year.
