Two years have passed since the love story unappreciated much has been released, many have yet to be touched by the magic of the movie.
He had always led me to this pain in my mind for the last two years – I missed seeing one of the best love stories I had seen in this decade in a theater! By the time I got to see it on DVD, I realized what a huge loss it was for a movie lover to me!
To be honest, the only reason I did not see the movie on the big screen was because I was not a big fan of their stars. For me, Govinda Ranveer Singh was a new era, while Sonakshi had relegated herself to play damsel in distress action heroes. But I underestimated the power of its director Vikramaditya Motwane, the man who made the world notice it for his film debut, Udaan. He could easily work magic with what was supposed to be a short story page 2 masala and two actors.
Two years have passed, and Lootera remains a classic devalued not yet been seen by many viewers. If you have not seen the movie yet, I’ll give you five reasons why you should see the movie!
It is one of the best love stories of the decade.
Can you please name any great romantic films of this decade could be hit, along with classics like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Ek Duje Ke Liye, DDLJ? You can find the answers to be fair accounting fingers. This is very sad, for an industry that thrives on love stories. Lootera not push the romance in your face; It is subtle, natural and emotions caused by the experience of first love and betrayal are too deep and hurt later. The climax is so disturbing and tragic, with the song Zinda Hoon Yaar playing in the background. I could not believe I shed a tear or two on the fate of the convicted Ranveer at the end (and I’m proud to say that!)
Henry story last leaf is said to be the inspiration behind the film, however, in reality, only the last half hour or so is actually similar to the short story. Even then, the film has its own vision of this story. People who have read the story and seen the film know what I’m trying to say …
The most amazing aspect I loved about the movie are the fantastic performances of its principal actors. Ranveer has never been subtle but very effective and charming Singh. Sonakshi Sinha has never looked so natural ethereal, and was given a great performance. Lootera is a joy to watch because it has these two young actors give their best performances ever …
Not only Ranveer and Sonakshi, even the minor characters, consisting of Barun Chanda, Divya Dutta, Adil Hussain, Arif Zakaria, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and above all, Vikrant Massey, were delightful.
