Andhra Pradesh, which lost IT hub Hyderabad to post Telangana branch last year, has launched several plans to provide 500,000 jobs in IT and 400,000 in the electronics sector, he said.

The infotech industry has taken a big hit in Andhra Pradesh residual after the split. Revenues from the IT sector has been reduced to only Rs. 1,600 crore from Rs. 65,000 crore in the unified state, said the Minister.

The only window licensing policy of the Government has received a good response from the industry. About 28 new industries have approvals, creating 37,000 job opportunities, he said.

Industrial corridors around Anantapur, Visakhapatnam and Kakinada are attracting new business ventures, said Reddy.
