After being part of an extremely successful period flick in recent times, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati of Baahubali, stormed the screens last Friday with yet another period film.
Rudhramadevi, directed by Gunasekhar, starring Anushka, Rana, Allu Arjun and Prakash Raj, hit the screens last Friday. Based on the life of warrior queen of Kakateya dynasty, Rudhramadevi is off to a great start at box office. Despite the mixed reviews, where critics pointed out flaws in VFX and action department, Anushka-Allu Rajun starrer has managed to mint Rs 32 crore at box office in the opening weekend.
The film has opened well and according to early estimates it has grossed about Rs.32 crore in the opening weekend worldwide. The Telugu version has done exceptionally well and the film has taken a very good overseas opening as well”, said trade analyst Trinath.
Apart from releasing in Telugu, Rudhramadevi is dubbed in Hindi and Tamil too. With Tamil version hitting the screens on October 16, the box office figures are expected to swell as Anushka Shetty and Allu Arjun have huge fan base in Tamil Nadu.
