Telugu dealers plan to protest GST!

gstThe government of India to bring all the various systems of the fiscal slab in the country under one roof proposed to bring a single window of goods and services of the tax system. In short, it’s called GST invoice. The government wants to implement this from July and many film distributors and exhibitors are unhappy with such a decision. Already, the Tamil producers’ council under the actor, Vishal decided to protest the implementation and began to raise their voices against him. While in North India, entertainment taxes on films range from 35 to 52%, in the southern states, the Tamil Nadu government gives tax exemption to all films when they have a Tamil title and get one Complete “U”. With the GST, the government can not grant such subsidies and producers along with distributors strongly oppose this. Now even Telugu dealers and exhibitors have begun to express their concerns. If the GST bill is implemented in the proposed manner without any Amendment, distributors will release large amounts to taxes and quotas will be reduced to a minimum. Sharing is nothing more than what dealers earn after calculating and subtracting rents and taxes from gross collections. They are worried that it will force them to raise ticket rates to recover their huge amounts, especially for big movies. So they are looking to protest against the government to reduce the amount of entertainment tax and also want producers to charge lower amounts they are these days. They have already introduced NRA and percentage system so that the producers are also part of the whole distribution process and many are trying to get some big producers also to join them.
