Wedding ceremony of Kerala CPI MLA Geetha Gopi’s Daughter in Thrissur on Sunday caught everyone’s attention. The photograph of the bride covered fully in gold became a point of discussion everywhere after it went viral on social media.
Geetha Gopi is a 2-Time CPI Legislator from Nattika in Thrissur district. CPI Leadership expressed displeasure over the big fat wedding as it dented the party’s image.
However, Geetha Gopi defended himself saying any parent would have done the same thing. He even told there is nothing extravagant about the wedding festivities and they were held in a low-key manner.
In April this year, Kerala Agriculture Minister Ratnakaran demanded introduction of a new law to prevent extravagant weddings. Now, An MLA of the Ruling Party was found splurging huge money for Daughter’s Wedding. CPI Leadership might take a stringent action on the Legislator soon.
