ACB catches the King of AP Corruption
Officials of the Anti-Corruption Office (ACB) were shocked to learn of the illegal assets amassed by the Chief Engineer of Public Health and Municipal Engineering Pamu Panduranga Rao. Assets of about 900 rupees have been unearthed during raids on their properties in Guntur, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari and Krishna districts.
Three residential properties, 7 plots in Hyd and Visakha and 6.5 acre Agricultural Land in the district of Krishna were registered in the name of Rao. Whereas, 35 plots and 21 agricultural lands were in the name of the wife of Panduranga Rao Rajya Laxmi. Rs 10 lakh in cash, Rs 1.95 lakh in US dollars, a kilo and a half of gold and 9 kg of silver were seized.
Pamu Panduranga Rao comes from Kotcherla in the district of Krishna. He joined the government service as Deputy Executive Engineer in 1987. In the last 3 decades, Mr. Rao managed to accumulate as much wealth as possible by using his position. Finally, ACB caught Rao and produced it in court after the arrest.
