Rajamahendravaram: In a rare case, a baby with four legs was born in a government hospital in Kakinada, near Rajamahendravaram, in Andhra Pradesh.
“It is a peculiar and rare birth with these cases happening in deliveries of 10 lakh,” said the infantile specialist Manikayamba in the hospital.
She said: “Mani, 25, from Tapaswaram village of Mandapeta Mandalam in the district was admitted to the hospital yesterday for childbirth. In the afternoon she delivered a baby with four legs that were tied to the stomach.
The boy and the mother are safe, the doctor said. “The child is safe and is being treated under special care in NICU,” the doctor added. The birth of the child saw a large crowd gathering at the hospital premises.
