Fecal material found on ice at McDonalds, KFC and Burger King in United Kingdom
Much has been said about the effects of eating junk food and eating in popular fast food chains, but how bad can you eat at your nearby McDonald’s or KFC outlet?
While junk food itself is not exactly great for health, a new revelation seems to indicate that you may have consumed feces while dining out at McDonald’s, KFC or Burger King. According to the Watchdog program of the BBC, it was found that the ice used in these outlets contained feces after the test.
Although drinking water is not supposed to have any bacteria at all, four Burger King and five KFC samples were found to contain high levels of coliforms, which was worrisome according to experts. After the shocking results, KFC closed the ice machines in the UK and is conducting its own research on the subject.
Meanwhile Burger King ensured that emphasis will be placed on employee training procedures and McDonald’s was open to working with relevant agencies to prevent ice pollution.
