Shanghai: The intrigue surrounding Neymar’s future in Barcelona took another turn when the Brazilian star said on Saturday he would be in Shanghai on Monday.
It comes a day after a big event organizer in China said that a meeting with the striker on Monday in Shanghai was off because he and his advisers were busy with the transfer business.
That added to speculation that the turbulent 25-year-old could be prepared to join Paris Saint-Germain for a record 222 million euros.
He also emerged from Neymar with a training altercation with the new Barcelona, Nelson Semedo, while in Miami, where they will play Real Madrid later on Saturday in a high profile friendly.
Then Neymar sent a first message to Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, saying: “Greetings to fans in China, I am Neymar Jr, this is my official Weibo account.
“I’m going to share my personal experiences with Chinese fans.
“I look forward to your next and reposting, see you in Shanghai on Monday!”
The message was written in English and Chinese, but gave no further details about his movements in China.
