A child born with birth defects is a rare occurrence, but lack of awareness can make things worse for a child who already suffers. Recently a child near Mumbai found that she was pregnant with her own twin and the underdeveloped child was surgically removed.
In a similar incident, a baby in Rajasthan was born with a twin parasite that had two additional legs and an extra penis. While these children may be treated through surgery, lack of medical care and knowledge could have led to drastic consequences as the family decided to throw the child into a river.
Fortunately the news spread in the area and came to Bharat Pal Danda, who runs a hospital, as he quickly sent an ambulance to pick up the boy and the mother. The extra members of the child and the gut were removed as they are now recovering in the hospital.
The boy had three arms, four legs and two penises, and although he was well inside, the extra members created problems for the child.
