Sikkim: China capable of annihilating Indian troops says Chinese media
Beijing: Carrying out a strong warning to the Modi government, China on Saturday urged India to be aware of the army’s overwhelming firepower and logistics. The neighboring country, China, has kept India responsible for the Sikkim confrontation.
Boasting its superiority, the Chinese government Global Times in an editorial said, “India is publicly defying a country that is far superior in strength. India’s recklessness has surprised the Chinese.”
“Perhaps it’s regional hegemonism in South Asia and Western media comments have blinded Delhi to believing it can treat a giant to the north in the same way it harasses other South Asian countries.”
Asserting that this is a war with an obvious result in favor of China, the editorial said: “Indian border troops are not rivals of the LRA field forces. But if a war spreads, the PLA is Perfectly capable of annihilating all Indian troops in the border region. ”
The Sikkim clash, which entered its third month in August, began with India’s opposition to a road construction by China in the strategically important region of Chicken’s Neck, which falls into a triangle between India and Bhutan and China.
“The initiative of the Indian government is irresponsible to regional security and is playing against the fate of India and the well-being of its people,” the editorial said.
“If the Modi government refuses to arrest him, he will push his country into a war that India has no power to control,” he added.
Urging the People’s Liberation Army of China to be prepared for a war situation, the Global Times said: “We believe the PLA has done enough preparation for the military confrontation.”
The editorial added that “India is concerned that the road that China was building in Doklam could threaten the safety of the Siliguri Corridor,” but questioned that “how does it justify the incursion of Indian troops into another country at all disrespect of international deals? ”
“If the Modi government takes China’s good will out of weakness, its temerity will only lead to devastation,” underscoring the PLA that did not hit last month when Indian troops entered Chinese territory.
He also urged the Modi government to stop lying to its people that “India in 2017 is different from India in 1962,” adding that “the gap in national strength between the two countries is the largest in the last 50 years “.
China’s foreign and defense ministers today issued statements about the illegal transfer of Indian troops to Chinese territory, promising to take all necessary steps to have India remove its troops unconditionally.
