3 Indoamericanos will be honored at the 18th IACCGH Gala
Houston: Three prominent North American Indians will be honored for their achievements in entrepreneurship and relentless passion for community service at the annual Greater Houston Chamber of Commerce (IACCGH) annual gala on Aug. 26.
The IACCGH Gala is the most important event and fundraiser of the year, attended by Houston’s top business leaders, elected officials, and IACCGH members and guests. Marie Goradia has been nominated for the “Impact on Humanity” award, while Swapnil Agarwal will receive the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award and Bal Sareen will receive the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award.
Janiece Longoria, a US citizen, also receives the “Economic Impact” award of the year. Bob Patel, CEO of Lyondell Basell, will be the
Speaker at the gala where he will present prizes to the winners and will address a meeting of more than 700 attendees.
Announcing the names of the winners of the awards, IACCGH President Allen Richards said they were selected for their diverse and exceptional achievements in the fields of entrepreneurship, humanitarian service and the impact of economic growth in Houston.
IACCGH Executive Director Jagdip Ahluwalia described the gala as “an update, part of appreciation and part of honoring the men and women who have achieved success not only for themselves but for the community in which they live”.
Janiece Longoria, President, Port of Houston was honored for her outstanding contribution by positioning the port as a global competitor and key economic engine for the Texas region.
“The Impact on Humanity Award” is being presented to Dr. Marie Goradia for her advocacy of causes that deserve such as the education of disadvantaged children in India and to support causes in health care.
US-based Bal Sareen, CEO of Brask Inc, a leading manufacturer of heat exchangers and shells in Texas, has been recognized for the entrepreneur award. Sareen is an expert in the explosion / explosion industry.
The young professional of the year is introduced to Swapnil Agarwal, founder and director of Nitya Capital, a real estate investment firm.
“Since its inception in 1999, IACCGH has been instrumental in fostering economic ties between US and Indian companies, both small and large, as well as coordinating efforts among facilitating organizations such as sister chambers in India and the United States,” he said. Ahluwalia to PTI.
IACCGH is an important engine in inbound and outbound business delegations to India that helps in expanding markets, product lines and diversification for companies.
Consul General of India in Houston Dr. Anupam Ray would be the main guest at the gala, while Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and Mayor Sylvester Turner will be the guests of honor.
The event supports the Chamber’s activities to promote business growth, create jobs in Houston and facilitate bilateral trade between Houston and India.
