It is a different thing for people from Andhra region who have settled in Hyderabad before the state was divided. After bifurcation, slowly the feeling of living in Telangana state has sunken and everyone started choosing among their favourite leaders when it comes to politics.
Though many thought that Telugudesam party would be a place for Andhraites in Telangana region, the T-TDP sank without trace in the recent times. The likes of Congress and BJP also became pro-Telangana parties with almost zero representation from Andhra based cadre in the parties. So naturally Andhra people in Hyderabad has to pick someone from the above and many voted for KCR led TRS in GHMC elections.
Analysing this situation, we hear that few biggies who are moved by the information that 50% taxes paid in Hyderabad are from Andhraites are urging some leaders to start a special Andhra Party. Cutting away from all other political outfits, if a special party is established for Andhra settlers in Hyderabad, then slowly Andhraites in other regions like Nizamabad and Khammam might chip into it, is what they say.
Who would lead such Andhra Party? Which Andhra-based leader in Hyderabad has such charisma to unite all other andhraites under one single roof? Will it be like those Telugu leaders in Chennai who still speak broken Telugu in Tamilnadu assembly for the Telugu community settled there?
Let’s see if 2019 election will see any new surprises, like a new party for Andhra settlers. Starting a political party in the name of caste, creed, or a community is not new in India, so this party will also become reality easily. But will they vote it to power at least for a couple of MLA seats in case if it forms, is what we have to watch.
