Disappointed With Budget, Babu Calls Emergency Meeting
Deeply disappointed with the negligence shown in the 2018 Budget by Centre towards AP’s necessities, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for an emergency meeting with party leaders on Sunday.
Speaking to media in Delhi, TDP MP TG Venkatesh said that they would take a call on whether to end ‘alliance with BJP’ or tag along with Saffron party in the meting to be chaired by Naidu. He hinted that their patience has run out and there might declare a war.
Union Minister Sujana Chowdhary said that Chandrababu Naidu was extremely disappointed with the Budget, which did not address even the critical needs of AP such as funding for Amaravati, Polavaram project funds etc. He added that TDP will fight for its share for having been an alliance and supporting BJP for the past four years.
Another TDP leader, Ram Mohan Naidu, said that Naidu has paid several visits to Delhi, made requests on several occasions to sort out AP’s pending issues, has remained patient, but the Centre continues to ignore them, ever after four years.
A couple of days ago, addressing media, Chandrababu Naidu said that his party would chart its own course if the BJP didn’t want to continue the alliance. He added that despite the Centre failed to fulfill its promise of ‘Special Status’, he had been restraining his party men going against BJP in order to maintain the basis principle of ‘coalition’.
With the last hope, 2018 Budget, also fetching nothing for AP, Chandrababu-led TDP is expected to take a big decision in the party meeting on Sunday.
