The US has insisted on taking action against its chief Hafiz Saeed, including Lashkar-e-Taiba. The warnings of the US came to prominence when the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) made a crucial decision in the case of Pakistan on the blacklist. The arrest of key leaders of the Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jamate Uddhav corps has been welcomed by Alicia Wells, chief of the US South and Central Asian Affairs Bureau.
Four days ago, four key leaders of Lashkar-e-Taiba were taken into custody by Pakistan. The key leaders of the Lashkar-e-terrorism organization have arrested Prof. Zafar Iqbal, Yahya Aziz, Mammad Ashraf and Abdul Salman.

The fact that Pakistan has become a haven for terrorists is a growing truth. For decades it has been exacerbating terrorists. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) made the pivotal decision in August to add Pak to the blacklist, as there was little evidence that it was providing financial support to the terrorist bases in its territory. The FATF made the decision at a meeting in the Australian capital, Canberra.
Pakistan recently submitted a report to the FATF on the steps taken to eradicate terrorism. However, the FATF Asia-Pacific Group has made it clear that almost 32 of Pakistan’s 40 actions are not in compliance with their regulations. The meeting, which was attended by all 41 members, did not support Pak’s actions. Members are of the view that Pakistan’s actions to curb the supply of funds to terrorists are not in compliance with FATF regulations.
However, the FATF meeting is scheduled for this month. It is impossible for Pakistan to get out of the blacklist threat if it does not meet its goals. This could lead to further difficulties. Four key top leaders were arrested just four days after leaving. If the FATF is not satisfied, Pakistan, along with Iran and North Korea, will remain on the blacklist.
