Air India launched the first nonstop service between India and Denmark on Saturday.
The national airline will fly nonstop from Delhi to the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, its 44th international destination.
Copenhagen will be the tenth European destination where Air India will operate non-stop service.
The airline will operate flight service three times a week on the Boeing B-787 Dreamliner and is offering one-way fares starting at ¥ 42,000 to mark its inauguration.
It will offer 18 businesses and 238 economy class seats in the Delhi-Copenhagen sector.
“This is the Mermaid connection to Maharaja. The cargo reserve so far looks promising and will particularly help in transporting flowers between the two countries,” said Air India President and CEO Rajiv Bansal at the launch event.
He said that the national airline will consider daily flight services in this sector depending on passenger traffic.
Last year, air traffic between India and Denmark grew by 10.1% and the number of visas issued increased by 20% over the previous year.
Among European cities, Air India flies directly to destinations such as Stockholm, Madrid, Vienna, Paris, Frankfurt, London, Rome, Birmingham, and Milan.
Earlier this year, Air India launched international flight services to Washington and Stockholm. It will soon launch flight services to Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, Nairobi, and Dallas.
