After the debacle of Kittu Unnadu Jagratha at the box office, young hero Raj Tarun is eyeing on a Summer treat that could bring him back into hit-fold. This time he’s coming up with Andhagadu which marks the directorial debut of writer Veligonda Srinivas in Telugu films.
To cash on the last days of Summer holidays advantage, Andhagadu has earlier locked May 26th as the release date of the movie. However, Naga Chaitanya’s Rarandoi Veduka Chooddam has locked on the same date and Annapurna Studios is making sure that a maximum number of crucial centres will be occupied by this film. That’s a threat sure for others in the race as Nagarjuna Akkineni, being the producer, could easily get a terrific number of theatres as well as attention for the film.
Sensing trouble, Andhagadu now moved to June, where the film will be hitting either on June 1st or 2nd. There are other films like Indraganati Mohan Krishna’s Ami Tumi and senior director Vamsi’s Fashion Designer set for the similar date. Looks like Raj Tarun would have felt that competing with these films will be better than locking horns with Naga Chaitanya’s movie.
In Andhagadu, Raj Tarun has yet again got paired with so-called lucky charm Hebah Patel whose lucky tag is getting beaten these days. After back to back flops like Nenu Na Boyfriends and Mister, Hebah also needs a serious hit.
