Actress Anushka Sharma, who is celebrating her birthday today, opened up on being rejected at auditions and how tough it was initially before landing in her first film. Anushka advised the budding and aspiring actors to keep auditioning and never lose hope.
“You will have to keep auditioning. That’s the only way,” said Anushka who was auditioned for the role of Kareena Kapoor in 3 Idiots but was later rejected. She said she wasn’t sure while auditioning for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi as she was already tired of auditioning films. But she landed up in the female lead role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the film and she never looked back since then. “I did a couple of small films including Luckbychance. In between I was model and auditioned for several ads. I used to tell that I was shortlisted but it was always the other girl who used to get the chance. But it’s not me. I never lose hope,” added Anushka.
Anushka added that she didn’t take it to heart if she was rejected from films as she admitted she wasn’t attached to do films. But it’s all past. Anushka is now one of the leading heroines in Bollywood who went onto act alongside SRK, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and the list is long. Aamir’s PK, Salman’s Sultan, Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil are few of her claim to fame. Anushka turned into producer along with her brother and produced Phillauri.
Her relationship with cricketer Virat Kohli has been the talking point and Anushka also faced some criticism for Virta’s poor performance on cricket ground. But the couple hardly concerned about them and maintaining their relationship happily.
