Union Law Ministry offered its consent for the division of Hyderabad High Court as per AP Reorganisation Act 2014. Very soon, President of India will issue a notification in this regard.
Centre decided to set up separate high courts for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from June 2nd, 2018. It was on this day in 2014 Telangana State was formed officially.
Three days ago, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to Centre offering his consent for separate High Court. A debate is being held in Parliament on the same topic couple of days ago.
Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad informed the Parliament that AP Chief Minister agreed to establish temporary High Court in Amaravati. He, however, maintained Centre can’t take any decision on division of High Court judges and it’s up to the Supreme Court coliseum to decide.
