Balaji Marine Company Has Started Godavari Boat Rescue Operation At Kachaluru
Boat extraction work on the Godavari river started at the Devi Pattom Mandal Kachchulur in East Godavari district on Monday morning. The government has handed over the work to Kakinada-based Balaji Marine. The government has agreed to pay Rs 22.50 lakh for the extraction of the boat. Against this backdrop, the Dharmadi Satyam team is approaching Kutchur with rope and langar. Heavy equipment from Devipatnam police station is moving in a special boat to the danger area.
The thickest part of Kachuloor is the most dangerous area. With the huge vortexes here in Godavari, the most difficult task is to take relief measures. Against this backdrop, the district authorities headed by Collector Muralidhar Reddy have taken stringent security measures. Steps were taken to prevent others from coming to the scene in case of any possible danger of falling off the ropes during the rescue operations.
While the boat was unloaded, the police had issued early warnings that no one would come to the area. Section 144 made special arrangements in that area. About 25 fishermen and experts led by Dharmadi Satyam are participating in the extraction. Crane, procline, sailboat, pantry, 800 meter wire rope, two anchors, three Leyland ropes, ten jockeys and other equipment are used.
The boat extraction process at Godavari will be carried out across the river, Dharmadi said. He explained that the boat was 210 feet deep so no one could go there. He said the boat was already stuck in the sand and that extraction would be a difficult task.
The boat sinks in a sunken area. The crane and the pokeline are placed about 700 feet from the shore. The anchors slip into the water without having to get into the river and wind around the event. As soon as the anchor is hit, the rope tries to pull the crane to the crane. The windmill continues with two anchors.
In the 15 days since the deadly accident in Godavari, 15 of those who lost their lives are still to be found. According to government figures, 77 people boarded the boat and 26 were safely evacuated after the accident. A total of 36 bodies have been identified so far. Relatives who had been waiting for their whereabouts for almost 12 days from the day the boat sank eventually went back to their homes.
