Music director turned hero Vijay Antony’s super hit Tamil film Pichaikaran released in Telugu as Bichagadu in summer this year amidst hardly any hype, but went on to rule the box-office. The Telugu producers bought the film’s dubbing rights for less than 50 lakhs and became millionaires as the film collected more than 25 crores.
Bichagadu is an emotional drama of a billionaire son living the life of a beggar for 40 days in a desperate bid to save his mother’s life. Such is the craze created by Bichagadu is that the movie has created a sensation when it premiered on TV recently.
The TRP ratings of Bichagadu are out and the film has scored 18.75 TRPs and stood at 8th place in the list of all-time top premieres in Telugu TV history, making Bichagadu a millionaire even on TV. There has been a huge buzz on social media about Bichagadu before and after the movie’s screening.
The Telugu TV TRPs are ruled by Nagarjuna’s Sriramadasu (24), Rajamouli’s Magadheera (22), Baahubali (21.84), Srimanthudu (21.24), SVSC (20), Atharintiki Dharedi (19.40), Robo (19), Bichagadu (18.75), Drushyam(18.14) and Eega (17.72).
