BRICS leaders deplore North Korea’s nuclear test, Pak-based terrorist groups

bricksXiamen: BRICS leaders in Xiamen on Monday condemned the nuclear test conducted by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Sunday.

In a statement, the leaders said: “We deeply deplore the nuclear test carried out by the DPRK.”

On Sunday, North Korea announced that it has successfully carried out a test for a hydrogen bomb that is destined to be loaded onto an intercontinental ballistic missile.

North Korea’s Central Television newsreader said North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ordered the test and called it a “perfect success.” An earthquake struck northern China, with emergency sirens in Yanji near the North Korean border.

China’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement Sunday expressing strong opposition and strong condemnation of the DPRK’s nuclear test, The Global Times reported.

“North Korea has ignored the widespread opposition of the international community, doing a nuclear test again.” The Chinese government expresses strong opposition and strong condemnation of this, “the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The BRICS leaders in the statement also said they deplore all terrorist attacks worldwide, including attacks in the BRICS countries, and condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations wherever they are committed and by whoever and underline that it can not justify.

The statement from the BRICS leaders said: “We express concern about the security situation in the region and the violence caused by the Taliban, ISIL / DAISH, Al-Qaida and its affiliates including the Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish – Mohammad, TTP and Hizb ut-Tahrir. ”

Leaders of the statement said: “We urge the United Nations General Assembly to rapidly adopt the adoption of the Global Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT).”
