London: Do you feel bad after a big night out? A British company is offering its employees the opportunity to take “Hangover Days” simply by text messaging in the emoji for “music”, “beers” and “sick.”
“The staff will no longer have to fake a” 24-hour error “or fake a” sick voice, “you can simply tell your boss what they’re going to do,” DICE, a London-based music ticketing app for smartphones, said in a statement.
DICE founder Phil Hutcheon said nightly networks were important to his employees, as “some of the best deals in the industry happen after a concert.”
“We trust each other and we want people to open up if they are not experiencing live music late in the afternoon. There is no need for a false error,” he said.
DICE said the days off were not just for drinkers and “all staff is encouraged to take hangover days if they have had an afternoon on the music scene.”
“We’re all in concerts every night and we meet people from the industry,” said DICE employee Oscar Nicholas.
London has a vibrant live music scene. Starting in 2016, some London Underground lines now operate 24 hours a day to bring night revelers.
The generosity of the company has its limits, however. He is limiting the number of “Hangover Days” per employee to four per year.
