Centre sanctions Rs 99.86 cr to develop ecotourism in Telangana
The Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned Rs 99.86 million rupees for the “Comprehensive Development of Eco-Tourism Circuit ‘in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana. Telangana Tourism Corporation has proposed tours highlighting the scenic beauty of the region, covering forests , tiger reserve and wildlife, waterfalls, caves, rivers and reservoirs and ancient temples, taking care to include services and friendly tourist facilities, including a water sports center in the reservoir Singottam to make it a must-see destination.
The advantage of the circuit of ecotourism, in addition to its natural beauty, is the existing well-developed connectivity. The city of Hyderabad is well served followed by the easy motorway access NH-44 and State to Kollapur / Singottam / Somasila. Following the initiative previously adopted by the Corporation Telangana State for Tourism Development (TSTDC) President Pervaram Ramulu and tourism department, the project was sanctioned under Swadesh Darshan Mission 2015-16, an official statement said in Hyderabad. The project was finalized after the meeting of the Steering Committee of Missions held in New Delhi recently.
The project includes work on the development of shore Somasila with piers and navigation facilities, development of Singottam deposit and tourist facilitation center, and the development of Akka Mahadevi caves lighting and visitor services, among others. The project began shortly by TSTDC as lead agency, in cooperation with forests, irrigation, provision of state and archeology departments. There will also be provision for various components of the PPP so that can be developed to add value to the tourist experience, as cable cars, tourist cabins and cruise ships. Private sea-plane operators have also shown interest in addition to the activity in the center-water ports, which will be a unique experience for tourists.
