Facebook tests its own video chat application called Bonfire: report
Facebook is working on a video chat application “Bonfire” that will incorporate ideas from the Houseparty application of Life on Air, a video chat application created by the manufacturer of the Meerkat application, which allows users to stream live from the Application itself.
According to a report from The Verge, the app was recently demonstrated to Facebook employees and is being targeted for an autumn release.
In addition, there is another application called “Talk” that is under construction, the report said. According to the report, the application has been designed especially for teens and will encourage them to talk to their grandparents using video chat. The application also “gives more control to parents about whom their children can contact.”
Facebook has more than 2 billion users today, almost double the size it registered in 2012.
