First Reactions Are Positive For Spider-Man
“Spider-Man: Homecoming”, the latest American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, hit screens in India and US on July 7, this Friday. Here comes the good news for the Spider-Man aficionados, the latest film has received largely positive reviews.
The film had its first world premiere in Hollywood on June 28, 2017, and was released in the UK on July 5 and in additional international markets on July 6. Homecoming is the second reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise, which produced 3 original film (2002-07) and 2 films in the first reboot (2012-14). British actor Tom Holland has been cast as ‘Spider-Man’ in the latest reboot.
The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 93% rating for ‘Homecoming’ based on 166 reviews, with an average rating of 7.6/10. Critics praised Holland and the cast’s performances, the musical score, the light tone and the action sequences. The film was praised for playing with fresh ideas instead of trying to cash in on its popular franchise name. Most of the critics rated it the ‘Best film in Spider-Man film series’.
