Elections to Krishna-Guntur and districts of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council passed peacefully Godavari districts teachers forbid minor incidents on Sunday.

Guntur district recorded a 72.7 percent vote whereas Krishna recorded 65.2. The survey was conducted on 110 stations in Krishna and Guntur districts and 117 in the East and West Godavari districts.

Out of 9,762 voters in the district of Krishna, 6367 exercised their right to vote. The largest number of teachers (2699), who exercised his right was in Vijayawada division and was followed by Gudivada (1375), Nuzvid (1351) and Machilipatnam (949) divisions.

Tension prevailed during and Pushpa Hotel Centre in the city of Vijayawada as TDP and CPI (M) activists clashed on charges of distributing money on behalf of the candidate TDP-supported AS Ramakrishna. Three people accused of woo voters with money were detained by police.

Sitting MLC KS Lakshman Rao filed a complaint in this regard with the police and an investigation has been ordered by the District Collector Babu Ahmed. He visited some polling stations in Vijayawada, Kankipadu and Penamalur.

Guntur District Collector Kantilal Dande monitored the conduct of elections and personally visited a few polling stations in Guntur and Chilakaluripet. In the West Godavari district, 7,404 teachers cast their votes on the 9375 total.

The voting percentage stood at 78.97.

Districts East and West Godavari record a 83.11 percent vote. Of the 21,551 voters in both districts, 18,040 vote. EG Collector H. Arun Kumar, who is also the Returning Officer, oversaw the voting through web-casting.
Voting for Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda district Graduate MLC was peaceful and no adverse events reported in the three districts, here on Sunday.

Khammam district had registered an estimated 49.61 percent voting in the election of the Legislative Council of the Khammam-Nalgonda-Warangal Graduate election held on Sunday.

Around 41,813 voters of the total 84,285 registered voters had exercised their right to vote in 123 polling stations in the district to decide the fate of 22 candidates in the fray.

Voter turnout was lower than expected in Kothagudem and Khammam divisions, which recorded around 49.43 percent and 49.64 percent of the vote, respectively.

The toll free number established by the electoral authorities in the Collectorate was flooded with phone calls all day with many voters who make inquiries related primarily to the difficulties in locating polling stations where they are entitled to cast your vote .

Minister for Roads and Buildings T Nageswara Rao Dammapeta exercised their franchise.

K Ilambarithi Collector, Collector Set D Divya, IPC senior leader Puvvada Nageswara Rao were prominent among those who cast their votes in the town Khammam.

Nalgonda recorded highest vote

Nalgonda Staff Reporter adds: The Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda district MLC Graduate registered very low turnout, as many graduates remain to vote despite being a holiday Monday. Graduate constituency MLC recorded only 53.25 percent of the vote. However, among the three districts Nalgonda had recorded the highest percentage of votes with 58.35 percent, followed by Warangal with 51.36 percent and 50.01 percent Khammam.

The election went peacefully through Nalgonda. Of a total of 2,81,138 voters, only 1,49,718 voters have voted in these three districts. In Nalgonda, Bhongir division of revenues stood at the top with 69.51 percent of the vote, which was followed by Deverakonda 62.79 percent, 58.94 Suryapet, Nalgonda 55.18 percent and 53.57 percent Miryalaguda with . Energy Minister Jagadishwar G. Reddy had cast their ballots in Arvapally mandal while P. Satyanarayana Reddy District Collector, Superintendent of Police, T. Prabhakar Rao and Joint Collector N. Satyanarayana have exercised their right to vote in the city Nalgonda. Among the 59 mandals in Nalgonda, Bhongir division Gundala mandal registered highest vote with 84.86 percent. Among the few mandals which recorded 80 percent polling in the district four were the only Bhongir division.
