GST has its toll on Spyder!
Since the Indian government announced the tax unification system, GST, revenues from Telugu films have fallen massively and producers also exclaimed that the tax has increased 10% than normal and has affected the profits of distributors and Exhibitors. Mahesh Babu’s Spyder is facing the worst part as well.
Producers have planned to make about 100 crores pre-launch business with the film, but it looks like it could end up in 75 to 80 crores for the movie. As the GST should be considered in general revenues, the quantities offered by dealers have also been reduced and manufacturers are feeling that the GST has been announced at the wrong time for them and their movie.
However fans of Mahesh Babu are happy that the film that has been long in filming is finally on the verge of completion. The last release of the song is happening in August and the movie will be wrapped with that. Producers have confirmed that the release date is September 27 and like the films of Baahubali and Rajni, this film will also be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam on the same day.
