Hrithik Roshan’s vocal virtuosity in Kaabil
Hrithik Roshan, who plays the role of a blind man in his upcoming flick Kaabil, will be seen impersonating various voices in the film. And to get the voice and modulation right, we hear that the actor has had to go through rigorous training.
Says a source from the project, “Hrithik has to speak in the voices of various characters in the film, including that of his co-actors Ronit Roy and Sonu Sood.
It’s a part of the script and he’s now undergoing voice training for the same.”
To get some inside details about Hrithik’s rigorous voice training, we spoke to acclaimed sound designer Resul Pookutty, who is also a part of the project, about Hrithik’s efforts and this is what he had to say: “Hrithik has to speak in the voices of other characters in the film.
We had the option of getting his voice dubbed by the actors whose voice he is supposed to impersonate, but we felt that a far more credible option would be to use Hrithik’s own voice to sound like these characters. This is what we are trying to do in the film now.”
While actors playing multiple roles in the same film has been a common occurrence, an actor taking on the voices of various characters sure seems like a tall order and is something that’s never been done before. We hope Hrithik’s efforts bear fruit on the big screen.
