A Class 12 student, whose body was found outside Hyderabad on Tuesday, was killed by his mistress, police said Wednesday.
The boy was arrested by police, a day after Chandni Jain’s decomposed body was found in the hills near Ameenpur in Madinaguda. The premises that saw the body alerted the police.
The 17-year-old Miyapur girl had been missing since Saturday and police had reported a kidnapping case.
The case was solved after CCTV footage, which showed the girl along with a young man getting off an auto-rickshaw and walking towards the bushes.
He was later identified as Sai Kiran, who was his classmate of 6 to 10.
Curiously, Sai Kiran had also visited Jain’s house on Tuesday to comfort his relatives.
The defendant told police they had been in love for the last two years, but he was trying to avoid it during the past few months.
The girl apparently pressed him to continue the relationship and marry her, so he decided to get rid of her.
On Saturday, he took her to the Ameenpur Mountains and during a heated argument assaulted her. He pushed her further down the hillock, leading to his death.
The victim’s father, Kishore Jain, a businessman, suspects the child was not alone in committing the crime. He said some others might have helped him.
The girl had left the house on Saturday afternoon to meet with some friends. When she did not return home late into the night, the family filed a complaint with the police.
