After tasting spree of failures, many thought Nani was on downward spiral until he got Yevade Subramanyam which was an average grosser. And soon followed surprise yet stupendous hit Bhale Bhale Magaivoy that made him bounce back to the bankable star.
While Nani is continuing his success streak with films like KVPG, Gentleman, his latest offing Majnu has to overcome several ordeals to be declared a safe venture for all the people involved. Despite the romantic drama has received average to above average reviews and not-so discouraging word of mouth, the film’s collections were not to the tune of expectations.
First, the incessant rains played a spoilsport in terms of film’s openings at box office. Even though the rains were not a concern in overseas, collections were comparatively below par as his previous release ‘Gentleman’ fared much better. The film however is slowly raking in moolah.
Ram’s Hyper, which is all set for release this Friday, seems to be another hindrance. The film’s trailer has commercial shades with entertainment element and trade is expecting Hyper to take thumping opening at box office. The effect of Hyper on ‘Majnu’s box office prospects can’t be predicted as of yet as two films can easily share revenues at the ticket window if they have the impressive content.
