Mumbai: Shyamvar Rai, a prosecution witness accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, has told the district court in Mumbai that he “was a little scared” when Indrani Mukerjea told him about the murder plan.
Shyamvar Rai is being questioned by defense lawyers.
When Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer asked him if he was not afraid, Shyamvar Rai replied: “Thoda give laga” (I felt a little afraid).
He also told CBI special judge JC Jagdale that he did not demand money to help Indrani Mukerjea with his plans.
He had told the court before that Indrani had spoken to him with Skype sometime in 2012 and told him that he planned to kill Sheena Bora, his daughter. He told the court yesterday that he spoke to Indrani five-six times via Skype before the murder in April 2012.
The murder came to light three years later, when Shyamvar Rai was arrested by Mumbai police in another case and poured the beans.
The CBI, which took up the case later, claimed that the financial dispute was Indrani’s reason for hatching the conspiracy to assassinate Sheena Bora.
Shyamvar Rai’s examination would continue on September 4.
