Vijayashanti is not active in politics after her defeat in the 2014 polls. She did not bother attending the Meetings of Congress and Protests led by the National Party in the last three years. It was only after the disappearance of Tamil Nadu ex CM J Jayalalithaa, Vijayashanti appeared before the media to express his opinion. She met VK Sasikala Natarajan and called people to come in support of the faction led by her during the political crisis.
Since then, speculations have begun to make rounds that Vijayashanti is concentrating on Tamil Nadu politics. A statement has been issued condemning these rumors in circulation.
The Actress-Turn-Politician explained that she took a break from politics because of health issues. She claims to have a personal relationship with Jayalalithaa and admire her a lot. “It was out of that aspect, I extended support to AIADMK during the crisis, Jayalalithaa retained power with his welfare and development plans, it is unfair to destabilize the AIADMK government,” he said.
Finally, Vijayashanti made clear that he has no plans to change base to Tamil Nadu. She promises to continue her political career in Telangana herself.
