AP’s leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced his support to the BJP’s presidential candidate. YS Jagan, who was in New Delhi, stated that YSRCP would support NDA’s Presidential Candidate in the upcoming choice for the President as the incumbent President Pranab Mukherjee’s term is due to complete.
Jagan had met PM Modi and complained against AP government’s alleged corruption. Jagan had also sought Modi for the special inquiry by the CBI in the Agri Gold issue. Jagan had asked PM to support the Chilli farmers by increasing the current price of Rs 5000 per quintal to Rs 8000 per quintal.
Stating that the corruption in AP is No. 1 in India, Jagan presented a book on Chandrababu Naidu’s corruption to Modi. Jagan said that YSRCP’s support to NDA has certain conditions. The party would support NDA in all matters except Special Category Status to AP and Land Acquisition Act.
The moot question is are there any takers for Jagan & YSRCP. While NDA has a clear majority, does it require Jagan’s support for its presidential candidate? And Jagan himself lodging complaint against Corruption to Modi is certainly inviting laughs since Naidu is key partner in the NDA alliance. Let’s wait and see how serious NDA would take Jagan’s words.
