New Delhi: Vice President of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, struck on Thursday the chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming he had returned to the “communal forces” for their selfish political motives.
Gandhi, whose party was part of the Grand Alliance in Bihar that was abandoned by Janata Dal (United) (JD) (U) Kumar last night, said he was aware that he was planning for the last three to four months.
“He (Nitish) had joined us in fighting the communities, but Nitish Kumar, by his personal policy, joined the hands of those he had fought against,” said a boiling Gandhi.
This is the problem in Indian politics, he added.
“In politics, you come to know what is going on in the minds of people, of course I knew that Nitish ji is planning, we knew this was happening for the last three or four months.”
“People do something for their selfish motives, there is no beginning, no credibility, they can do anything for power,” he said when asked about the events in Bihar.
