Los Angeles County Judge says Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, who sold millions of albums with a unique mix of hard rock, hip hop and rap, was found dead at his home near Los Angeles on Thursday . He was 41 years old.Coroner spokesman Brian Elias says they are investigating Bennington’s death as an apparent suicide, but no further details are available.
The group sold 10 million copies of their debut in 2000, “Hybrid Theory”, and then another 4 million with the 2003 multiplatinum “Meteora”. Both albums explored feelings of frustration and anger.
Bennington, who wore piercings and tattoos, struggled with drug and alcohol addictions several times during his lifetime. He married and six children survive.
