Mega rural development scheme ‘Grama Jyothi’ released in Telangana
HYDERABAD: Considered as a “game changer” in rural development, a mega program that seeks the integral development of peoples was launched today in Telangana.
The program – ‘Grama Jyothi’ was launched by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the village Gangadevipalle Warangal district, which has won awards and recognition from various sectors for developing innovative activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said in making collective efforts for the development of peoples and announced an amount of Rs 10 crore for the village and urged their representatives to fill the drip for improved crop production.
Several government ministers participated in the related functions ‘Grama Jyothi’ at different locations. Panchayat Raj and IT Minister KT Rama Rao, son of the Prime Minister, participated in ‘Grama Jyothi’ Aziz Nagar in Ranga Reddy district.
“We want the Aziznagar village development plans to be written in the Aziznagar Grama Sabha and not in the Assembly or the Secretariat,” said Rama Rao.
“This is the only theme of ‘Grama Jyothi”, “an official release here quoted the minister as saying.
According to the minister, the flagship scheme will be a “game changer” towards an inclusive and comprehensive development of peoples hitherto backward.
The government will encourage the people who reach 100 percent white in the areas of sanitation, immunization, nutrition, literacy and green cover, Rama Rao said.
IT Minister thanked the gram panchayat to reach 100 percent of tax revenues and assured all possible help from the government to the people.
He said that all the people of Telangana have adequate road connectivity in the next four years.
