North warns of more gift packages for US

NORTHAmid the international uproar over North Korea’s latest and greatest nuclear test, one of its top diplomats said on Tuesday it was ready to send “more gift packages” to the United States.

Han Tae Song, the Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the UN in Geneva, addressed the UN-sponsored Conference on Disarmament two days after his country detonated its sixth nuclear explosion.

“The recent self-defense measures of my country, the DPRK, are a” gift package “aimed at no one other than the United States,” Han told the Geneva forum.

“The United States will receive more” gift packages “from my country, provided they are based on reckless provocations and futile attempts to pressure the DPRK,” he added.

“The pressure or sanctions will never work in my country,” Han said, adding: “The DPRK will never put its nuclear deterrent at the negotiating table.”
