NRIs help develop smart classrooms in AP
Vijayawada: Volunteer organizations and NRIs come together to promote government schools and make contributions to give these schools a facelift.
The NRIs, which supported the government with AP Janmabhoomi to establish smart classrooms in 1,500 schools last year, now focus on equipping 630 schools statewide in the second phase.
Most corporate and private schools adopted the smart class method years ago and government schools were still lagging behind.
Special Representative of the Andhra Pradesh Government in North America Komati Jayaram and a team of volunteers are monitoring a project in which NRIs are helping to establish smart classrooms on the basis of 70:30.
“The Telugu people living abroad were passionate about doing something for their homeland, and every intelligent class was costing about Rs 1.5 lakh. The NRIs contributed $ 750, equivalent to 45,000 rupees, and the government is enduring 105,000 rupees remaining in the organization of smart classrooms, “Jayaram said.
He said that special measures were taken to satisfy donors and that a special interactive system was carried out and monitoring was carried out.
Special care was taken in designing content and NRI volunteers were provided internships in the education of children, he added.
