Former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao’s Nandamuri Jaya Krishna has sentenced to six months of simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25 lakh by a City Civil Court in a case of bounced checks on Wednesday.
The case was registered against him on the basis of a complaint lodged by the then proprietor of the Ramakrishna theater canteen, Narsing Rao.
Jaya Krishna had to return the security deposit of Rs 27 lakh to Narsing Rao. He gave two checks one for Rs 19 lakh and one for Rs 8 lakh to Narasin Rao. But the checks bounced and there was no response from Jaya Krishna. Therefore Narsing Rao filed a petition in court.
