Congressman Rajya Sabha and member Palvai Govardhana Reddy died due to a heart attack in Kullu Manali in Himachal Pradesh on Friday morning. Palvai, as he is popularly known, was in Kullu Manali to attend a meeting of the parliamentary committee where he suffered a massive heart attack and died. His wife and Medak deputy, K. Prabhakara Reddy, were with him when he finally breathed. Palvai a five-stroke MLA in United Andhra Pradesh served as a minister twice during 1980 represented the Munugodu constituency in the Nalgonda district. Palvai was elected to the upper house in 2012 and was representing the state of Telangana in the upper house since 2014, after the state bifurcation. On 20 November 1936 in Nadimpally village of Acchampet Mandal in the district of Mahabubnagar, Palvai is survived by wife, two sons and one daughter. Telangana’s Prime Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, expressed his shock at the death of Palvai Govardhana Reddy and issued orders to take his body to Hyderabad on a special plane. TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, several other leaders of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh condemn the death of the leader of the Congress.
