RAJAHMUNDRY: A young Dalits girl was allegedly raped by a house guard after being confined to a room in Mandapeta in the East Godavari district for some time to force her into prostitution. The victim, aged about 13 years, comes from the Kurupam village of the Vizianagaram district. He came to the village of Yedida Mandapeta Mandal to meet his relatives a few days ago. While waiting for a bus to reach the village of Yedida from Mandapeta at night, two women approached her and offered her permission to stay with them at night, as there was no bus available for her to reach her village in that moment.
The girl went with them to her house to spend the night. However, the two women tried to force her into prostitution by confining her to a room. Meanwhile, Fr. Ramakrishna, house guard, from the Pamarru village of K. Gangavaram mandal, attached to the Mandapeta police station, arrived there and took her to an isolated place and raped her, according to the complaint of The young woman.
Later, the women confined her in the room for a few more days. However, the girl managed to escape the women and raise an alarm. The villagers came to his rescue. He filed a complaint with the Mandapeta police. As a result, the police recorded a case against the home guard and the two women under the provisions of the Law on Protection of Children against Sexual Offenses, 2012 and also SC and Atrocities ST (Prevention) Act. Defendants are released. Although the crime allegedly took place in the first week of July, it came to light on July 16 after police recorded the case.
